Collective bargaining agreement for university employees
The collective bargaining agreement sets out the rights and responsibilities of the employer and the employees.
It serves as the uniform legal basis for all employees of Austrian universities and sets out specific minimum standards (e.g. regulations on minimum salaries, improved periods of notice and pension provision through a pension fund).
The collective bargaining agreement is automatically valid for all employees who enter into a contract of employment with the University of Vienna.
In your role as a university professor, the following provisions are of particular relevance (German only):
§ 72 Leistungen (German only)
(1) Die Pensionskassenzusage umfasst zumindest Alterspensionen, die gebühren, wenn die/ der ArbeitnehmerIn das 60. Lebensjahr vollendet hat und das Arbeitsverhältnis zur Universität aufgelöst wird.
(2) Das Leistungsrecht wird durch Unisex-Tabellen geschlechtsneutral gestaltet.
(3) Übersteigt der Barwert der Versorgungsansprüche nicht den sich aus § 1 Abs. 2 und 2a des Pensionskassengesetzes ergebenden Betrag, kann die
leistungsberechtigte Person von der Pensionskasse abgefunden werden.
