Independently managing allocated resources

To closely monitor the allocation of resources and their use the service unit “Accounting and Finance“ has established a separate cost centre which is responsible for keeping account of the allocated resources.  The university professor is authorized to sign for this cost centre; they independently manage the allocated resources and are able to obtain information about the resources used via online access to the accounting department. If required, reports can also be sent automatically by email to the university professor.

Flexible use of allocated resources

The resources agreement specifies generally the period for which the resources may be used. In the event of delays (such as for procuring equipment), the resources which have not been used may be transferred to the subsequent year to prevent the loss of unused funds.
At the same time funds allocated to one category may be transferred to another category (such as invested funds to physical and financial resources). This is to ensure maximum flexibility in using the allocated resources.
