Equipment procurement

The University of Vienna as a public contracting body must adhere to the Bundesvergabegesetz (Public Procurement Law) for all purchases made.It stipulates that purchases made for equipment worth more than EUR 40.000 must comply with certain formal criteria of the procurement procedure.

Procurements according to the Public Procurement Law are made for the entire university by the service unit “Facility and Resource Management“ (in German). The Service Unit Facility and Resource Management provides information on regulations which must be complied with. Furthermore, it offers assistance with selecting the right procurement procedure and advertising the procurement.
