Pension fund
(professorships longer than two years)
The collective bargaining agreement facilitates a pension fund policy for a large proportion of the university staff which provides an attractive future supplementary pension. You can further increase your pension provision by paying additional voluntary employee contributions.
Which contributions are made by the University of Vienna for you as a university professor?
After a two-year waiting period, the University of Vienna pays monthly employer contributions into the pension fund (currently Valida Pension AG) and makes a one-off payment which is the back payment of all the employer contributions due since the start of the employment.
The employer contributions may be broken down as follows:
- during the first two years following the entry into force of the pension fund policy (1 October 2009 to 30 September 2011): 7.27 % of the monthly gross salary; and
- from the third year (from 1 October 2011): 10 % of the monthly gross salary.
What options do you have?
Employees can also pay employee contributions up to the same amount as the employer contributions.
What do you need to do?
As a university professor, please provide a university professors’ declaration to the University of Vienna. Following receipt of the necessary declaration, the employee contributions will then be paid at source.
Please send this declaration to:
